SHEEP General Information:

Please review our guidelines below:

Nametags on lanyards will be handed out during Meet the Teacher night.

  • If you do not attend or receive one at Meet the Teacher, the name tag will be given to your student during their first class. The nametag has their name, allergies, class schedule and emergency contact number. Please be sure that we have two local emergency contacts in case we need to reach parents. If the name tag is lost during the school year, please stop in to the payment desk and request a replacement. We charge $5 for replacements and that fee can be paid on the spot or it will be charged on your next invoice.

We observe a lunch period during the 11:50am to 12:10pm class changeover.

  • Lunches are eaten in the 12:10pm classroom. We do not have refrigerators or microwaves available, please pack a lunch that your student can open and eat independently. If your child’s first class is at the lunch period and they are planning to eat lunch at SHEEP, arrive by 11:50 so they are in class when it begins.

Please label all lunch bags, back packs and water bottles.

  • If an item goes missing we will place it in our Lost and Found which is located in the foyer by the front doors under the carport. At the end of first and second semester all unclaimed items will be donated.

Pizza is available at our Summerville and Goose Creek campuses the last week of the month.

  • This is an optional lunch that must be signed up for and paid in advance. Sign ups are open during the first weeks of each semester. You may sign up for the fall semester, spring semester, or full year. Pizza is $2 a slice with a 3 slice maximum. Payment is required at the time of sign up. If you miss your pizza week there are no refunds. We will post reminders on our Facebook page.

Classes are 50 minutes long.

  • There is a 10 minute break between classes for class changeover and bathroom breaks.  Please encourage your students to use the restroom during this time.

When SHEEP guidelines are broken, our job is to enforce the standards of excellence for everyone. As a parent, when you sign up for SHEEP classes, you enter into an agreement between SHEEP, yourself and your children to uphold these standards.

Parental Requirements

  • You, the parents, are ultimately responsible for the education of your child. SHEEP cannot guarantee that any of the classes offered will meet your individual and specific needs. Further, SHEEP cannot guarantee high school credit will be given for a particular course or class. You are required to make sure your child completes the work at home to insure a credit in the class. You are strongly encouraged to speak to your accountability association prior to enrolling with SHEEP should it be your desire to receive credit of any kind from any class offered by SHEEP.
  • SHEEP is simply a starting point. Since SHEEP meets only once a week, the majority of the course work will be completed at home. This especially true in courses where you as the parent hope to award a high school credit.
  • SHEEP is open to homeschoolers who homeschool under South Carolina Option 2 or 3 and have current membership in a Homeschool Accountability Group.

Security and Safety

  • We employ a safety team to monitor the campus during class time and facilitate class changeover. Safety team members direct traffic, assist children, monitor doors, supervise students waiting for pick up and more. Please listen to traffic directions from our safety team and work with them to keep our students safe!
  • For the safety and security of your children, all doors except the front door will be locked during class time and monitored by the safety team.
  • All parents must enter by the front doors. Only students, volunteers and staff wearing nametags on lanyards will be allowed entry to entrances other than the front doors.  If you need a nametag for entry, please see our front desk and they will assist you.
  • Our traffic pattern allows cars to flow smoothly through our parking lot and allows for a safer student crossing to the house classrooms from the main building. Please enter the parking lot at the insurance agency and exit at the sanctuary.

Guests

  • No guests are allowed on campus without prior approval.  If you receive approval, please visit the front desk for a temporary visitor’s pass to allow you on campus.

Off Limits

  • The kitchen beside the family room is off limits to students unless they are helping a teacher.  Coffee and anything else in that kitchen is off limits to students.  There will be no congregating in this room at anytime.
  • The Gym and gym equipment are off limits. Please do not let your child play with anything in the gym; this is not our gym and children may only be in this space when enrolled and attending a supervised class with their teacher.
  • At 3:00, all students, parents and staff need to be off campus so the volunteers can clean and close the buildings.

Weather Policy

  • If the school district that is local to our campus locations makes changes to its regular schedule due to weather, SHEEP will also make changes. If the school district opts for cancellation, e-learning, or closing buildings to faculty, staff, and students due to weather, SHEEP will also close. SHEEP will reopen when the school district resumes its regular schedule. If the Governor has issued an evacuation for the area, SHEEP classes will be closed.
